Sometimes, someone asks me to talk in full sentences about something. I have acted as a moderator at the L.A. Times Festival of Books and been a contributor to the L.A. Times’ Podcast ‘The Reel.’

On the semi-terrestrial airwaves, I have been asked to speak about the losses of Dave Brubeck, Lemmy Kilminster and Prince on outlets such as the BBC, KFI and ABC Radio in recent years. Below is a sampling of a few longer segments I appeared on TV and radio that so far, inexplicably, remain archived.

KCET’s “SoCal Connected” — Herbie Hancock: All That’s Jazz (Oct. 28, 2011)

BBC Jazz on 3: On the Los Angeles jazz scene (Oct. 11, 2010)
